Busy times

Another order completed.

Luckily I've only one more order to complete at the moment.

I'm dying to get started on my dress patterns and I know that once mum & dad get back from visiting my Brother and Sister in-law, in Sunny OZ I won't have half as much time.  They've been away for 7 weeks so far and to be honest I haven't had chance to really miss them, been far to busy with sewing, work, Pampered Chef parties, meals out and this week a job interview.
I was lucky enough to be offered the job I had the interview for on Monday, so as long as all the paper work goes through on time I shall be starting work at Worfield Primary School on Monday 19th April.  I've handed my notice in so that means I've only got another 9 days to work at my current school before I leave. ( Notice runs out during the Easter holidays).

Ballet Bag Order

Ready just in time - I didn't think I was going to get these done in time for tomorrow eveing, but I managed it.  I knew I wouldn't have much time to night to get them fixed as I'm having a rare night out and the rest of the week has been really mainc.
Job interview Monday, back over to see new head teacher Wednesday pm, work full time etc etc.  But at least I can enjoy myself tonight knowing that bags are completed and hopefully that means I can get the  next cushion/ballet bag order finsihed off over the weekend.

Fabric brought....so lets get sewing....

Well I managed to get all the fabric that I needed for the current orders that I have, I could of spent a fortune in there, but was very good and only brought what I currently needed.
Prety pinks for the girls and blues for the boys.

both fabrics navy
Oh yeah, nan brought these two fabrics for me so I can try out my new dress patterns, but they were a baragin, top fabric £1.95 mt, bottom one £2 mt.

So as soon as I've finished making up others peoples orders I shall start on the bottom pattern (3/4 length sleeve version).

Fast & furious

Well the orders are coming in nicely at the moment:

1 patchwork pink cushion
1 patchwork blue cushion
1 ballet bag
1 personalised beach bag (suprise 40th birthday present)

A couple of other people have expressed interest in some of my bags, but thet're waiting till pay day.

Only trouble, is true to form I don't have any suitable fabric, but luckily I'm off to Birmingham to meet Nan on Saturday and she says there is a fantastic fabric shop there - lets hope so! If not it'll be http://www.online-fabrics.co.uk/ who always deliver the next day.  Wish me luck :)

Busy weekend

Well it's been a busy weekend, but at last everything I needed to get  made is finished.

I had an order for two TKD bags, both different styles. They have now both been finished.

Emma's is done in black as she is a 2nd Dan black belt (note the markings on her belt).

I then had ballet bags to make for friends of Natasha's (twins), who are having a birhtday party towards the end of the month.

Precious Words

At least once a week Tash now brings us either a picture, a card or a letter home form school.  These are so precious and are treasured very much both by myself and Ian.  Some of these get stuck on kitchen cupboard doors, others go straight into my treasure box - all our loved more than words can say,

Thank you Natasha xx

Bran loaf

I haven't made this receipe up for years, but it's so simple and fairly healthy I thought I'd make some up ready for lunch boxes this week.

Receipe:
1 mug of All Bran
1 mug of sultanas
1 mug of milk (or cold tea)
1 mug of plain flour
0.5 mug of sugar

Leave All Bran, sultanas and milk to soak in a bowl for at least 1 hr, then add flour and sugar.  Mix, put in pre-greased loaf tin and bake for approx 1 -1.5hrs at about 160c.  Serve with or without butter, yummy!

At last something for me

At last I've made something for me - nothing exciting just a black cord skirt.  But it does mean I can now wear these tights I've been hiding at the back of my draw for ages.
Looks like Bumble approves of it too.

I should of been making a top for me this evening but I've put it to one side for now as I'm about to throw my overlocker out the window it's driving me mad, I'm sure I must be doing something wrong, but I don't know what arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Did you spot you and yours in the photos on the cupboard Cat ?
